CORRUFLEX™ Sidewall Belts

CORRUFLEX™ sidewall belt Speedbird Supplies

Introducing CORRUFLEX™

CORRUFLEX™ – brought to you by Speedbird – one of the world’s most experienced suppliers of sidewall conveyor belting with more than a century of combined experience in all aspects of sidewall belt technology enabling us to provide high quality products and service to all clients.

For more than 50 years, Sidewall belting, has been developed into a primary solution for steep incline and vertical conveying of bulk materials.  The critical features that apply to CORRUFLEX™ Sidewall Belts are engineered into the individual components that make up a complete sidewall belt. Read on for more information…

basebelt

Base Belt:

Designed and selected for each application, consisting of high transverse rigidity in conjunction with low elongation. The belts can be of all – textile design, a combination of textile and transverse steel cords or all steel cord design, according to the strength required and application requirements.

  • Designed and selected for each individual application, consisting of high transverse rigidity in conjunction with low elongation
  • Belts can be constructed with the following designs:
  • XR All-Textile Construction
  • XR +2 Textile EE Fabric with Polyester Monofilament
  • XR-SC +2 Textile EE Fabric with Transverse Steel Tyre Cord
  • ST Steel-Cord
  • Full range of tensile strengths available depending according to application requirements
  • Full range of rubber qualities available according to application requirements
  • Produced according to internationally accepted standards
sidewalls

Sidewalls:

Manufactured from a high grade rubber compound specifically formulated to provide the optimal flexing performance which is provided by high strength and elongation. Our sidewalls are also available with an additional diagonal fabric reinforcement which is a standard feature for 75mm and 100mm wide sidewalls and optional on the 50mm wide sidewalls.

  • Manufactured from a high grade rubber compound specifically formulated to provide the optimal flexing performance which is provided by high strength and elongation
  • Standard heights range from 40mm to 630mm
  • Our sidewalls are also available with an additional diagonal fabric reinforcement which is a standard feature for all 75mm and 100mm wide sidewalls and optional on the 50mm wide sidewalls
  • Full range of rubber qualities available according to application requirements
cleats

Cleats:

These are available in varying heights and designs which are selected according to the application requirements. Our cleat range provides optimal conveying capacity and load support along with abrasion resistance and discharge performance. Cleats from ≥ 140mm are fabric reinforced as standard and optional on lower cleats.

  • Cleats are available in varying heights and designs which are selected according to the application requirements
  • Our cleat range provides optimal conveying capacity and load support along with abrasion resistance and discharge performance
  • Four main designs of cleats in our programme:
  • “T” Straight, “C” Inclined, “TC” Angled, “TC Duo” 2-Part Angled
  • Cleats from ≥ 140mm high are fabric reinforced as standard and optional on lower cleats
  • All cleats >140mm come with screw-reinforcement as standard. For fine/free-flowing materials, we can also offer the option of side-blinkers fitted between the sidewalls and cleats
  • Full range of rubber qualities available according to application requirements
  • Produced according to internationally accepted standards
hot vulcanised assembly - corruflex belt

Hot Vulcanised Assembly

  • CORRUFLEX™ Belts supplied by hot vulcanised assembly are highly recommended when material and/or ambient temperatures is in excess of 100°c
  • Although marginally slower than the production rate of cold vulcanised assembly, there is virtually no risk of profile separation in high material/ambient temperature environments
  • Our hot vulcanised production assembly equipment has been specially engineered to accommodate belts with profiles up to 2400mm wide and with profiles up to 630mm high
cold bonding assembly - belt

Cold Bonded Assembly

  • 30 years of experience mastering an advanced cold bonding technique of applying sidewalls and cleats to base-belts to an unrivalled high standard
  • Consistently delivering adhesion values in excess of 10N/mm – 20% higher than global market leaders!
  • Our consistent high levels of adhesion can be further enhanced by up to 40% when applying our CORRUFLEX™ Ultra-Bond Film between the profiles and the base belts
  • CORRUFLEX™ Belts supplied by cold bonded assembly work optimally when the material and/or ambient temperatures do not exceed 80°c
  • Greater production efficiency leading to quicker delivery times and more competitive pricing compared to belts produced by hot vulcanised assembly
  • Belts with profiles up to 2000mm wide with profiles up to 400mm high can be produced by cold bonded assembly
Quality Control - belts

Quality Control

Quality Control is at the heart of our production and is considered as serious as our competitive advantage in the global marketplace

Our advanced sidewall belt dynamic test facility has been designed to simulate a snapshot of the performance of a typical sidewall belt lifetime and is configured to replicate the most frequent vertical conveyor design known as an S-Shape with 90° incline and deflection points

After any simulation, we are able to analyse the performance of each sidewall belt component, in particular, the sidewalls and modify compound values to suit specific applications where required

All CORRUFLEX™ Sidewall Belts are supplied with an international guarantee indemnifying the life of the belt for 24 months following shipment OR 12 months following installation, whichever occurs first

Packaging

The process of applying sidewalls and cleats to the base belt is a critical feature for all sidewall belts and is an issue which Speedbird views with great importance.

Our high bond-strength cold bonding process is generally used with an option for hot vulcanising which is primarily used for heat resistant applications or where this method is the customer’s preference.
